We are looking for an AI and automation specialist to help build the next layer of SMT Elite: systems that make a high-complexity EMS operation faster, more consistent, and more transparent. You will work close to the shop floor and the data, turning manufacturing know-how into tooling that scales.

What you'll do

• Design and deploy automation across quoting, DFM analysis, production data, and inspection workflows.
• Build AI-assisted tooling for defect detection, yield analysis, and X-ray / AOI image review.
• Integrate manufacturing data into clear, actionable dashboards for the team and for clients.
• Help structure our content and knowledge systems so expertise is captured, not lost.
• Work directly with the founder to prioritise where automation creates the most leverage.

What you bring

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and hands-on experience applying ML or modern AI tooling to real problems.
• Comfort working with messy, real-world operational and image data.
• An interest in electronics manufacturing, hardware, or industrial processes. Direct EMS experience is a plus, not a requirement.
• A bias for shipping practical systems over research for its own sake.
• Discretion. Much of our work is confidential and security-sensitive.
